Self-declared Centre of the Universe, and it maintains the joke with public art: the Fremont Troll under the Aurora Bridge, a rocket on the corner of Evanston. The ship canal frontage now carries a substantial cluster of technology offices.

Craftsman houses on the hillside north of the canal, brick commercial along Fremont Avenue and North 34th, and large recent office and apartment buildings on the waterfront blocks.
Flat and very walkable along the canal, and the Burke-Gilman Trail runs straight through, which makes this one of the better cycling positions in the city. The Fremont Bridge is among the most frequently opened drawbridges in the country; budget for it.
The office cluster has changed traffic and parking pressure on the streets nearest the canal. Low blocks near the water sit in the flood-prone zone, so pull the map before committing to a daylight basement.
These notes describe the physical and civic character of a place. They are one broker’s opinion and they are deliberately silent on who lives there.
Everything published here at the moment, sold sheets included. The set is small because it is one broker’s inventory rather than a feed, and each one has been walked before it went up.
