What this page is

This site is run by one person. This page says exactly what it records about you, why, and how long it keeps it. It is written to describe what the software actually does rather than to cover every eventuality, and it is kept accurate as the site changes.

What is recorded when you read the site

Every page view is logged on our own server. That record contains your IP address, an approximate location worked out from it (usually a city and a region, never a street), your internet provider, which page you looked at, the page you arrived from, and what your browser reports about itself: its name and version, your operating system, your device type, your screen size and your language.

This is kept because a small business needs to know whether anyone is reading its listings. It is not sold, shared, or used to build a profile of you across other websites, because it never leaves this server.

What is recorded when you write to us

If you send an enquiry, we keep your name, your email address, your phone number if you gave one, your message, and which property you were asking about. If you leave a review, we keep the name you gave, your answers, and your email address if you provided one.

These are kept so that somebody can reply to you and so there is a record of the conversation. Enquiries and reviews are read by one person.

The IP address that sent them is also recorded, for one narrow purpose: these forms are open to anyone, so counting recent submissions from an address is how the site refuses floods of spam. It is never displayed and never used to identify you.

Cookies

The public pages of this site set no cookies. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no social media widget on any page.

If Google Analytics is switched on it will set its own cookies, and this section will be updated to say so before that happens.

Who else sees any of this

Your IP address is sent to a geolocation service so the city and region can be worked out. Nothing else about you is sent with it.

The site is hosted by our web host, whose servers hold the database and the photographs. Typefaces are served from this site rather than fetched from Google, so reading a page tells Google nothing.

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with advertisers. There are no advertisers.

How long it is kept

Enquiries and reviews are kept while they are useful and are deleted on request. Visit logs are pruned on a schedule rather than kept forever.

What you can ask for

Write to the email address on the contact page and ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. It is one person and a small database, so the answer will be a real answer rather than a form.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page and the date at the top of it change with it.
